Nice Pete leased on with when Colonial Freight System was called Colonial Refrigerated Transport and based in Birmingham, AL versus Knoxville, TN. I shot him during summer 1974 at the Springfield farmers market.	Kind of an interesting load on deck trailer pulled by this Ryder Truck Rental GMC Astro taken at the Westfield, MA Hojo's in summer 1974.	Deioma Trucking Co. from Alliance, OH ran a colorful fleet for back in the 70's. I found this one somewhere in W. Springfield, MA in 1974.

Here's a hay hauler minus the hay that I came across along U.S. 5 in W. Springfield in early 1975. I can't make out where his 10-20 was, looks like NY, VT or possibly Quebec.	An interesting looking Ford leased on with Jay Lines from Amarillo, TX waiting to unload at Hampden Beef in downtown Springfield, MA in summer 1974. I believe Builders Transport acquired Jay Lines back in the 80's to get their Texas intrastate operating authority.	Boston Buffalo Express was a long time reefer fleet that ran the Mass Pike and N.Y. Thruway heavily. This O/O leased on was sitting across the street from the entrance ramp to Exit 3 in early 1975.

Wison Oil Co. from Leominster, MA operated this U Mack which was stopped at the Eastbound Ludlow, MA service plaza of the Mass Pike in early 1975.	A sharp double bunk KWCOE at Pioneer Valley Ref. Warehouse in early 1975. Thanks for the time that Mike Boyd Photoshoped the bacteria spots away.	The driver of this Chevy Titan had pulled up and was inside registering to stay overnight at the Westfield, MA Hojo's Lodge when I pulled up in my Mom's VW and shot it back in late 1974, good timing!!

An O/O leased to Associated Transport's Special commodities division waiting to unload at Sterling Radiator in Westfield, MA during summer of 1974.	J.B. Montgomery from Denver, CO had a number of Marmon COE's leased on with them. Perhap's one fleet operator owned all of them? This one was waiting his turn to off load at Hampden Beef in downtown Springfield in 1974.	Hampden Beef in Springfield received many loads of beef each week carried in by numerous fleets. Here Lisa Motor Lines from Ft Worth, TX was having it's turn at the unloading dock in 1974.

Found this old Marmon COE leased to Indiana Refrigerator Lines stopped at the corner of Union St. & MA Route 147 in W. Springfield in early 1975. It may be kind of dirty from road spray, but still a classic looking ride none the less.	A Diamond Reo for Union Carbide's Suffield, CT industrial gas plant stopped across U.S. 5 from the Valley View Diner getting donuts & coffee from Mr Donut in early 1975.	Carter's Maine Potato's at the Springfield, MA farmer's market in early 1975.

Here's an O/O with his KW conv. daycab leased to Transamerican's steel division at the Valley View Diner at U.S. 5 & I-91 in W. Springfield right after an early 1975 snowstorm.	Another O/O who chose to lease his Pete COE to Transamerican's reefer division at the Springfield farmer's market in early fall 1974.	Still another O/O leased on with Transamerican's reefer division at Marquis Texaco truck stop during summer 1974.

D & T Trucking from the Minneapolis, MN area at Pioneer Valley Ref. Warehouse also in early 1975. It was rather odd to see a day cab this far from home, maybe his sleeper was just off for some reason??	This was a real interesting looking rig from Minnesota that was fueling up at the Mass 10 Truck Stop on U.S. 20 in Auburn during summer 1974. I believe the letering on the door reads SIC.	Ingersoll Rand from Los Angeles ran a regular weekly route into the Springfield area and always fueled up at the ARCO across from the Marquis Texaco on U.S. 5 in W. Springfield. They always had that classic looking "candy cane" striped bumper on their Pete COE's. I took this picture in late 1974.

KSH, Inc. (which also has Carrier Service, Inc. lettering on the bottom nose of the trailer) along with two R Mack's for True Value Hardware contract hauler Cotter & Co. from NH at the Westfield Hojo's in spring 1973.	Magog Express, Inc. Ford from Quebec had pulled into the W. Springfield, MA IH dealership for some reason back in 1974.	Two Guys Dept. Stores contract hauler Vornado, Inc. from Garfield, NJ was delivering to the Chicopee, MA Two Guys store on MA Route 33 which was across the highway from the entrance to Exit 5 of the Mass Pike in summer 1974.

Mountain Pass Canning Co. from Anthony, TXat a shopping plaza around Springfield, MA somewhere. I don't recognize the background so I must have been driving by and just saw it there by chance.	An unidentified boat hauling Pete at the Marquis Truck Stop I'm guessing early, early spring 1975 as there are no leaves on the trees plus the cab is covered in road salt.	Another Lisa Motor Lines O/O delivering to Hampden Beef in downtown Springfield, MA on a dreary day sometime in 1974.

Sharpe Motor Lines was another one of those NC based new furniture delivery fleets. This KW COE was layed over at a motel near the marquis Truck Stop on U.S. 5 in W. Springfield when the trees leaves were still green in 1974.	Pulley Bulk Trans. Emeryville from Buffalo, NY getting some service work done at the W. Springfield IH dealership in summer 1974.	U.S. Postal Service MB Mack latched onto a Penn Central mail trailer at the W. Springfield rail yards in 1974. That's a St Johnsbury Trucking P & D L Ford in the background.

"Miss Lee" White 7400 for a Burnham Van Lines agent layed over at that L.T.L. motel in W. Springfield in early 1975.	O/O for Distributors Service from Detroit, MI at the former A & P warehouse on Springfield's North end in late fall of 1974. A very clean Diamond Reo leased to Schanno of Minnesota from S. St Paul @ Hampden Beef in Summer 1974.	Dallas & Mavis Brockway's were taken in 1974 at the Valley View Diner in W. Springfield P.B. Mutrie Transportation lineup was at their little terminal they had along MA Route 147 in W. Springfield in 1973 before Coastal Transportation from Akron, OH acquired them.	Unidentified Diamond Reo COE was at the Eastbound Mass Pike Serive plaza near Ludlow, MA sometime in 1974.

This private fleet Atlas with Halloween cab colors had pulled into the Marquis Truck Stop in early 1975.	Dodge 900 leased to KAT (Kenosha Auto Transport) stopped on N.B. U.S. 5 in front of Mr. Donut in W. Springfield sometime during summer 1974.	An interesting looking load on this trailer pulled by a Brockway along U.S. 20 near Palmer, MA in early 1974,

A nice Mack R for Dairy Equipment Co. from Madison, WI & the KWCOE for Starcraft Company at the Westfield Hojo's also in summer 1974.	Kieth's Trucking from NY state was at the Pioneer Valley Ref. Warehouse in early 1975 with this nice looking IH Transtar.	Real sharp Diamond Reo this O/O has leased to Jones Motor Company's Lancer Division after delivering to the plant in the background in W. Springfield in early 1975.

This Diamond Reo reminds me so much of that AMT model kit that I built in my basement growing up. This was parked near Hampden Beef in downtown Springfield in summer 1974.	The Valley View Diner in W. Springfield on a cold early 1975 day was the setting for this very dirty West Coast F Mack for Brown.	Logansport, IN based meat packer Gangloff & Downham is unloading at Lewis Beef at the Springfield, MA farmer's market complex on a drizzly summer 1974 day.

Agway farmers co-op from their Geneva, NY location laying over at the Westfield, MA Hojo's in 1974. Agway built a big distribution center and maintenance overhaul shop about 3 miles from the Hojo's so Agway rigs were continually coming and going to Westfield.	Crestline Windows was delivering to O'Connor Lumber on the N. side of Westfield during summer 1974.	Quinn Freight Lines from Brockton, MA @ PVRW in Springfield in spring 1975. Sorry the picture is cut down for some reason!!

I'm not sure of this fleet name, I'd see it every now and then growing up but never got the proper name of it registered in my head. This nice looking KW was off-loading at the A & P Warehouse on Springfield's North end sometime in 1974.	In 1974 I was shooting almost every truck that I could especially rigs delivering to the Springfield farmers market. I can't quite read the door letting, but I can tell he's from California somewhere.	Local & Western from Eustis, FL was another one of those small reefer fleets that I'd always see coming up from the South while growing up. This Ford was backed into a new building @ the Springfield farmers market complex back in 1974.

Heavy & Specialized hauler W.J. Casey from NJ had pulled one of their nicely decorated Mack's into the Mass 10 Truck Stop on U.S. 20 in Auburn, MA to diesel up in summer 1974.	This O/O was leased on to CFX - Coldway Food Xpress from Sidney, OH and was preparing to back into his unloading door at the Springfield, MA farmer's market in summer 1974.	Here's another picture falling victim to bacteria that is slowly eating away at the image of the International Transport KWCOE from Rochester, MN who was stopped at the Marquis Texaco on U.S. 5 in W. Springfield in fall 1974.

I was passing this Westbound Diamond Reo leased to Tri-State Motor Transit out of Joplin, MO who was cresting a hill between Exits 4 & 3 of the Mass Pike in Fall 1974. He came down the other side of the hill and blew my doors off!!	Someone going by Triple M Trucking looks to be a contract hauler for or leased on to AMS - Associated medical Scientific, Inc. out of MI someplace. This was taken along U.S. 5 in W. springfield that had a whole slew of little motels on that stretch of it back in the 1970's.	The lettering looks like H.K. Jennings who leased his Ford to ICCC - Interstate Contract Carrier Corp. from Salt lake City, UT. He was layed over at the Motel 6 across from Exit 6 (I-291) of the Mass Pike in early 1975.

An O/O leased to KAT - Kenosha Auto Transport who had just finished unloading the last car at the Westfield AMC/Jeep dealership on U.S. 20 in summer 1974.	Lyon Van Lines across the steet from Marquis Truck Stop on N. bound U.S. 5. I always thought Lyon & Republic Van Lines had two of the most eye catching logo's of the major moving companies that were around in the 1970's.	Sometime during summer 1974 Sitler, Inc. from PA was parked at the top of Clay Hill on U.S. 202 that leads N. out of downtown Westfield up to where the Exit 3 ramp is for the Mass Pike.

Wyman's Food Products from Milbridge, ME was at the Pioneer Valley Ref. Warehouse in early 1975 with their almost new IH Transtar II.	What looks like a brand new KWCOE that an O/O has who has leased to Associated Transport's Special Comm. Div. which was parked in AT's W. Springfield LTL terminal on MA Route 147 in 1974.	Friendly's Restaurants from Wilbraham, MA used this L Ford for warehouse and utility type work. I shot this along U.S. 20 in East Springfield in 1974.

A Helm's Motor Express & Ryder Truck Lines L Ford's at the LTL Motel in W. Springfield in late 1974/early 1975.	This KW tow truck had just arrived at the Marquis Truck Stop with a replacement tractor for the broken downAnchor Motor Freight unit next to it just before sunset in Spring 1975.	These two O/O's leased on with North Star Transport from Thief River Falls, MN were resting at the Westfield Hojo's after delivering snowmobiles to a Westfield Ski-Doo distributor in Summer 1973.

L.T.L. carrier Burgmeyer Brothers from Reading, PA had a small terminal in W. Springfield and this ole B Mack still peddled freight around the greater Springfield area when I shot it in fall 1974.	Montgomery Furniture Co. (not sure where they were based) had stopped at the Valley View Diner on this cloudy early summer evening in 1974.	Here's one tough looking Brockway for Springfield, MA based Wyatt Fuel Oil that was taking a short break along MA Route 147 in W. Springfield on the same evening as the Montgomery Furniture Ford.
